Rented materials are due on the last day of the semester.
The Texbook Refund Policies and dates apply to all rented materials.
Return dates and times are posted HERE.
All components of textbook bundles must be returned together.
Highlighting and writing in rented books is permitted
The student is responsible for any damage, loss, or theft of rental materials
Rented books can be purchased through the end of the first block with the rental fee being applied to the purchase price.
Purchasing after the first block does not qualify for a rental fee refund.
The student agrees to pay fees assessed by the University Store in the following situations:
*fees will be charged on the student's BYUI account
Replacement Cost Any rented items that are not returned by the last day of textbook rental return and sell back (the end of the current academic term).
Any rented items returned in an unsellable condition as determined by University Store staff.
of the used rental price Any rented items returned with water damage or other minor damage not previously identified.
Students are responsible for shipping costs when returning rented items. When returning textbooks, kits, and/or supplies, you must include a Textbook Return Form. Verify all conditions stated below are met for your return.
When shipping rental returns, the package must be post-marked by the return deadline - Tuesday following the last day of the semester.
Late rental returns (post marked after the return deadline) will not be accepted. The replacement cost will be charged to the student's personal BYU-Idaho account. Rental items will be discarded or donated to charity and will not be shipped back to the student.
Instructions to obtain a one-time use shipping label will be sent to the online student's campus email address prior to the end of the semester. If you did not receive this email or have lost it, you can find a one-time use shipping label here. It will only print one time, so do not print the label until you are ready to return your books.
Students who are off-track and taking online classes do not qualify as an "Online Only student" and will NOT be provided a shipping label. The deadline to return books back remains as previously stated.
